Brazil has 6 mi cases, nearly 170,000 deaths from COVID-19

With 302 deaths notified in the last 24 hours, the total number of deaths caused by COVID-19 in Brazil reached 169,485 on Monday (Nov. 23). There are also 2,202 deaths under investigation. The data come from the daily update published by the Health Ministry with the data submitted by state health secretariats across the country.

The nation total case tally now stands at 6,087,608. From Sunday to Monday, 16,207 new positive diagnoses for the disease were registered.

Also according to the official figures, there are 473,028 patients being monitored. Another 5,445,095 people have recovered from the disease.

COVID-19 across the states

The states with the highest death tolls for COVID-19 are São Paulo (41,276), Rio de Janeiro (22,028), Minas Gerais (9,794), Ceará (9,492), and Pernambuco (8,926). Those with the lowest number of fatal cases are Acre (714), Roraima (720), Amapá (792), Tocantins (1,148), and Rondônia (1,522).
