COVID-19: Brazil’s total case tally reaches 7,110,434
Brazil has registered 1,092 new deaths from COVID-19, as per data published Thursday (Dec. 17) by the Ministry of Health. The number brings the country back to the level of September 30, when the country reported over a thousand fatalities.
The total death toll now stands at 184,827. Under investigation are 2,236 deaths.
Also according to report, the number of positive diagnoses since the beginning of the pandemic has reached 7,110,434, after the 69,826 new cases are added. There are 747,905 patients being monitored, and 6,177,702 have recovered from the infection.
States
Atop the list of states with the highest death tolls for COVID-19 stands São Paulo (44,681), followed by Rio de Janeiro (24,204), Minas Gerais (10,933), Ceará (9,883), and Pernambuco (9,361).
The Brazilian states with the lowest amount of deaths are Acre (756), Roraima (766), Amapá (864), Tocantins (1,210), and Rondônia (1,681).
