Brazil total 5.87 mi cases of COVID-19, 166 thousand deaths
The number of people killed as a result of the pandemic of the novel coronavirus have reached 166,014. In 24 hours, 216 new fatal cases were registered. According to the report published Monday (Nov. 16) by the Health Ministry, 2,392 deaths under investigation.
People infected by the coronavirus over the course of the pandemic now add up to 5,876,464. From Sunday to Monday, health authorities notified 13,371 new positive diagnoses for COVID-19.
Also reported are 388,044 patients being monitored. Another 5,322,406—90.6 percent of the total infected, have recovered—from the disease.
States
The states with the highest death tolls are São Paulo (40,576), Rio de Janeiro (21,301), Minas Gerais (9,517), Ceará (9,440), and Pernambuco (8,838). After weeks with the state ranking stabilized, Minas Gerais has overtaken Ceará and now ranks third on the list.
Those with the fewest cases are Roraima (706), Acre (708), Amapá (780), Tocantins (1,137), and Rondônia (1,503).
